CUsafe Takes The Work Out of Insurance for You & Your Members

CUsafe was developed in 2009 as a partnership who saw that Irish Credit Unions wanted to provide value Insurance products for their members, but many found the compliance and staff workload involved made it difficult for them to do so. We were convinced that using the strong relationship members have with the Credit Union as leverage we would be in a strong position to negotiate discounts with quality providers on their behalf. Our management team have over 80 years combined experience working for and with credit unions and in the Insurance industry.

Having approached several possible providers we successfully negotiated with and selected an elite panel as they offered great quality and value products to the market already, and were prepared to improve their offer for credit union members in particular. This allows the credit union to look after their members without having to be “hands on” in the process themselves.

Continuing with our ethos to offer an excellent quality and service to our Credit Union customers we expanded and improved our business model with effect from September 2011. CUsafe Limited now offer a full Insurance Broker facility, quoting from 20+ Irish underwriters with an extensive range of value products available. We have set up a dedicated call centre facility in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 to manage all calls to our existing Lo Call number 1 850 287 233 . We continue to update and improved our web site, www.cusafe.ie, to facilitate online quotation and purchase of our personal lines Insurance products and also have Facebook and Twitter pages to follow all of our activities as they happen.

We are constantly listening to our customers and actively working to improve our service and expand our range to include new Insurance products they request. To this end we welcome all feedback on ways YOU would like us to facilitate YOU & YOUR MEMBERS needs.

 

John Hamilton, Director of Sales & Client Relations

John Hamilton has worked in the Insurance/Financial Service sector in Ireland for over 30 years, formerly with Church & General, and then Allianz. While at Allianz he was part of the team that introduced the well-known HomeUnion insurance which was a milestone in the credit union insurance market. John became the face of HomeUnion, especially in the Dublin and Leinster region. He then moved to take on the role of General Manager for CUNA Mutual Group Services (Ireland) Ltd., during which time they grew to provide Loan Protection and other insurance products to 15% of Irish credit union members. John is a member of the Association of Irish Risk Managers (AIRM) and sits on the editorial board of Risk Manager magazine.
 

Daren O’Neill CUA QFA, Director of Finance & Operations

Daren has worked for credit unions in both Ireland and Australia in a variety of roles up to and including the position of Manager, over a 16 year career. Daren holds a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree in Marketing Management, the Diploma in Credit Union Studies from UCC, is a Credit Union Advisor, and a Qualified Financial Advisor. He worked with John & Declan in CUNA Mutual Group Services (Ireland) Ltd. as an account relationship manager for many of the largest credit unions in Ireland. For the last number of years he has provided training and consulting services to credit unions in Ireland and the UK, as well as working with many organisations & businesses in the wider social sector. He is a voluntary assistant in his local credit union, where he has held positions of chairman, treasurer and supervisor in the recent past.
 

Declan Connolly, Director of Sales & Marketing

Declan has worked in the Insurance/Financial Service sector in Ireland for over 25 years, formerly with le chéile consulting, CUNA Mutual Group Services (Ireland) Ltd., Allianz/Church & General & Coyle Hamilton in a progression of Management, Operational, Underwriting, Sales & Service roles. He is experienced and skilled in all aspects of Insurance. Declan has been involved with Credit Unions handling the AutoUnion account within Church & General and then Allianz. He then took on the role of Relationship Manager within CUNA Mutual Group Services (Ireland) Ltd. working with John and later Daren with Credit Unions in Ireland. In 2007 Declan moved to le cheile consulting as Sales Manager successfully providing a range of Insurance products to Credit Unions and their members.
